New Literacy Collaborative to Offer Professional Development Opportunities in Southern Nevada
The College of Education at UNLV, in association with the Regional Professional Development Program (RPDP), Southern Nevada Writing Project (SNWP), Silver State Reading Association (SSRA), Southern Nevada Reading Council (SNRC), the UNLV Curriculum Materials Library (CML), and the UNLV College of Education Gayle A. Zeiter Literacy Development Center (LDC), have joined together to create the Southern Nevada Literacy Collaborative (SNLC). The Southern Nevada Literacy Collaborative, through contributions from the Gayle A. Zeiter Foundation, will begin offering professional development opportunities beginning in the Fall of 2006. The goal of the Collaborative is to provide quality professional development through local, national, and international speakers, and to support teachers in across Nevada in their goal of becoming literacy leaders and effective classroom teachers.
